Publisher and Website Owner Verification

Verifying website ownership in Vefogix is a simple process that ensures you are officially recognized as the website owner. Follow the step-by-step guide below:

Step 1: Log in to Vefogix

Visit vefogix.com and log in to your account.
From your dashboard, switch to your Publisher Profile using the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Open Your Website List

Go to your list of added websites.
Find the website you want to verify and click the Contributor button next to it.

Step 3: Download the Verification File

Download the verification file named as shown on your screen.

Step 4: Upload the Verification File

There are different ways to upload the file depending on how your website is built:

If your site is built on WordPress:
Go to your WordPress Admin Panel.
Install and activate a File Manager Plugin (or use cPanel if available).
Open the file manager and upload the txt file into the root directory of your website.
Save and confirm the changes.
If your site is not on WordPress:
Use your hosting panel or an FTP server to upload the txt file directly to the root directory of your website.
If you prefer not to upload the file yourself:
Provide us with proof that the site belongs to you (such as domain registration details or hosting access).
Once verified, our team can update the ownership status from our end.

Websites cannot be verified through Google Search Console (GSC). Ownership verification is handled through the available verification process and reviewed by the data management or technical team.

Step 5: Verify the Upload

Return to the Vefogix Portal.
Use the verification link from Step 2 to confirm the file upload.
If the file is uploaded correctly, you’ll see a verification code.
If not, you’ll get a 404 error.
If several websites remain unverified or you receive an invalid or non-working URL error, share the affected website URL and a screenshot of the error with the team. They can forward the issue for technical review.

Step 6: Confirm Ownership

Once confirmed, your website role will change to Owner in the Vefogix portal.

This means your website ownership has been successfully verified.

**Contributor access

Registrations are currently configured to accept only users who are website owners or administrators. Contributors who do not have access to complete owner verification cannot add sites until the platform enables contributor site additions. Pending or corrected sites may require review by the concerned team; allow time for an update.
